The US government has tweaked its terminology in referring to the nearly 11 million Americans who face a constant struggle with hunger to refer to them as people with "very low food security."

I saw this article and was whisked away to 1984 "doublespeak". Beautiful image. Often the faces and individuals in this issue get lost and you show that beautifully.

My husband volunteers at our local fairgrounds on Thanksgiving day to help serve meals to the homeless. You've captured this situation beautifully.

this is powerful not only because of how your color on their faces shows how they 'face this struggle' but also because they are not just nameless, faceless bodies. sometimes they're people we know, under very unfortunate circumstances, and it can happen to anyone. a wonderful piece for Thanksgiving...

I really like this, simple lines, and rich content. It's easy to sometimes miss the fact there are many people living on the edge, and hunger is very real to them, thanks for the reminder. Your artwork and idea-they are wonderful!

i love this piece. the first thing i thought about when i saw this was the FDR memorial in DC (i figure you are close to there). you really captured the essence of being thankful in a time of need. beautifully done.

I agree with all the comments above! Your illustration should be on the front page of the local paper - it truly shows the spirit of what Thanksgiving should be about.
