You see, this is why you shouldn't touch their wings... the colored scales smear off and ruins the design. :-) Nice butterfly.

Great illustration. Beautiful monarch and shocking jet-trails. There's a nearby town, Pacific Grove, which has an annual monarch butterfly festival... Tons of them come into town at the same time every year... sorta like the swallows at Capistrano.
