Charlie's Teacher by Danielle Boyce
Charlie’s Teacher is the story of a little girl whose baby brother, Charlie, has special needs. Charlie’s Teacher explores the little girl’s feelings about the special attention that Charlie receives when a special education teacher visits her home. Charlie’s Teacher is based on a true story of the author’s daughter, Ryan, and son, Charlie, who has a severe form of epilepsy and is developmentally delayed. The author was inspired to write the book when she could not find a book on this topic that adequately addressed her daughter’s needs.
Author Degree Danielle Boyce has a Master's in Public Health, works for Johns Hopkins and is active in exploring the emotion of art as a public health intervention. She is most importantly mother of Ryan (4) and Charlie (2) and includes them in her arts and sciences program that exposes inner city families to City cultural institutions.
To work on this book was an honor for me.

FORWARD
I was fortunate to take Penelope Dullaghan's Earth Art Class at Squam last fall. My word was "thrive" (a FORWARD thinking word) and this is a photo of my work on the Squam website. The day was cold and wet but we had a blast. Penelope was wonderful teacher and guide. I also took her hand lettering class. She, Colin and little Veda are an adorable family.
Thanks for visiting! ellen
